We reside in Southern California. We are Justin, a 34 year-old handyman, and Bernadette, a 31 year-old Behavior Consultant and student of child psychology. We have been married for one year. From the very beginning, we talked about children and knew that we wanted at least two. We originally planned on waiting until after I finished school to start a family. I work with autistic children doing behavior modification. Everyday I am around beautiful, wonderful, amazing children. So there wasn’t a void. It wasn’t until after my recent medical condition came up that we felt a void there. We have decided it would be best to have a child now. Earlier this year, abnormal cells were discovered on my cervix. A biopsy was performed. I was told on a level from one to four, I am at a level two. They performed a procedure to remove the abnormal tissue, but they believe they were unable to remove it all. Even if we are unable to have the two children we dreamt about, we would at least like to have one. So time is of the essence. We would like to become pregnant as early as March 2008. Unfortunately, financially we are unprepared and our jobs do not support this kind of financial obligation. Thus, we are seeking assistance. This website will chronicle our journey in making our dream of a family come true. It will include a Video Diary from preparation to pregnancy to the birth of the baby, including doctor’s visits, decorating the nursery, Lamaze, birth preparation, cravings, mood swings and the actual birth. Donations will be appreciated, but there will also be different products for sale on the site, such as hip unique baby onesies and maternity wear. In addition to financially supporting our pregnancy journey, we want to help other babies and families, so a portion of the profits will be donated to the March of Dimes.
