Story: The rebellious Moon Princess decided to intervene into human affairs when she saw the "Great Moguai" possess the vulnerable, infuriated RAT. She appeared to the Jade Emperor as The Jade Tigress. While helping to battle the Ratlord, she and the Jade Emperor fell in love. After they had thwarted the Ratlord, she became human and married the Jade Emperor. When the Elder Gods learned of this, they cursed her to bear inhuman offspring. But they also empowered her litter of jade-colored cats with the ability to carry on the fight should she be vanquished.
