THE JADE EMPEROR

Story: Chinese Folklore speaks heavily of the Jade Emperor. He may have been based on a real ruler of a Chinese dynasty or he may simply serve as the archetypal benevolent master of the ancient ways. He is credited for many legacies, such as the invention of the Chinese Lunar Calendar and the Great "Mind-Seal" Classic (a formula for immortality). In the show, he also sired the Jadecats with the Moon Princess and was subsequently slain by the insidious Ratlord. He and the Moon Princess live on as spirit guides to the Jadecats, occasionally appearing to them when they meditate or in their dreams.
